This is README file for XTREME DOWNLOAD MANAGER.

1. Installation.
No installation and no setup are required.


2. Uninstallation
Delete all the files came with the compressed archive
[Windows only: Also goto Start->All programms->startup and delete the
link of XDM if exists] 

3. System Requirment.
Any operating system with JRE 1.6 (JAVA6) or higher.

4. Usage

i. Windows

    Run xdman.exe or xdman.bat or xdman.jar
    If you want to place a shortcut on desktop or another location goto 
    XDM Menu ->File->Create Shortcut and select the location for
    the Shortcut.

ii. Linux
    If xdman.jar is not directly executable then
    Open Terminal
    Goto the directory where xdman.jar is located using cd command.
    Type java -jar xdman.jar to execute the jar file.
    Once executed you can create a shortcut to launch XDM with ease.
    Creating shortcut is disscussed above.

iii. Mac or Other OS
    If xdman.jar is not directly executable then
    Open Terminal
    Goto the directory where xdman.jar is located using cd command.
    Type java -jar xdman.jar to execute the jar file.

Refreshing Broken/Dead Downloads

While resuming downloads sometimes you may encounter an error 'download session has been expired'.
This error occures when the download link is valid for a limited amount of time.

To resume such downloads you will need to find a new download link that will point to that same file which was being downloaded.

Follow the bellow steps to get a fresh link:

• Goto XDM Menu->Refresh Link.
  It will open the Refresh Link dialog.
  
• If XDM knows the webpage from which the download was captured it will be displayed, otherwise you will have to find that webpage manually.
  
• Open that webpage and find the download link which points to the same file which was being downloaded (e.g. file size is same).
  If it is a video you can find the link using XDM Media Grabber.
  If it was a YouTube video, captured by XDM YouTube Downloader, then repete the steps you performed last time to get the direct download link.
  
• Paste the new link in 'New Download Link' textbox and click OK.
  
• Resume the download.
  

NOTE: If the new download link does not points to the same file which was being downloaded (filesize is not same) then XDM will throw an error or will result to a corrupted download.

Downloading Videos With XDM

YouTube videos can be easily downloaded with
XDM YouTube Downloader.
Goto XDM Menu-> File ->YouTube Downloader.

Downloading videos from Metacafe,Google Video,Daily Motion or any other website:
For Firefox/SeaMonkey users

• Integrate XDM with Firefox.
  Goto XDM Menu->Browser Integration and drag the icon into Firefox's Window.This will install the XDM extension into Firefox/SeaMonkey.
  
• Using Firefox/SeaMonkey visit the website (ie. Youtube,Metacafe etc.) and play the video in your Browser.
  
• After the video is started playing Right click inside Firefox's Window and select 'Download FLV with XDM' from the popup menu.
  
• The download link for the FLV video will be displayed in XDM Media Grabber.
  
• Click on the download button.
  

NOTE:

• Make sure XDM is running while playing the video in Firefox/SeaMonkey.

                      Using XDM on Linux

   Running XDM for first time:
   1. First check Java is installed or not. Type Terminal and
       type java -vesion.
   2. If java is not installed or it's version in not 1.6 (Java 6)
       then install the latest version from "http://www.java.com/getjava" .
   3. Open Terminal and goto the directory where xdman.jar is 
       placed using cd command.
   4. Type java -jar xdman.jar to run XDM for the first time.
   5. Now you can create a Shortcut on your Desktop or any other folder
      by selecting 'Create Shortcut' from XDM Menu->File.
